Job Description

We are seeking a General Surgeon to join our team as an Independent Contractor. This position is ideally full time at 40 hours per week; however, alternative block schedule arrangements may be considered based on candidate availability and organizational needs.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and skilled provider with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating conditions within general surgery, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and performing procedures or consultations as needed.

The position includes an on-call requirement of 15 days per month, including 16-hour weekday call and 24-hour weekend call. Candidates must remain within the vicinity while on call.

Patient Care & Treatment

• Provide expert care for general surgery patients
• Conduct patient consultations, exams, and evaluations
• Perform procedures in office and hospital settings
• Develop and communicate treatment plans
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on inpatient consults
• Maintain EMR records
• Order and interpret diagnostics
• Maintain a reasonable patient load for quality outcomes

Collaborative Teamwork

• Work with multidisciplinary teams
• Leverage assistants and scribe services to reduce administrative burden
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative environment

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution
• Active California medical license or ability to obtain
• Excellent bedside manner
• Board certification or eligibility
