Job description

Job Description

Explore a full-time Hematology/Oncology physician opportunity in Southwest Montana offering a highly competitive compensation package, a four-day workweek, strong multidisciplinary support, and the opportunity to help lead and grow an established cancer program.

This position offers a $600,000 base salary plus production incentives, along with a $25,000 sign-on bonus, up to $20,000 in relocation assistance, and up to $100,000 in student loan assistance. Eligible physicians may also receive a residency stipend of up to $36,000, and the position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

The practice offers a broad General Hematology/Oncology scope with a meaningful hematology component. The anticipated mix is approximately 60% oncology and 40% hematology, with flexibility for physicians who prefer a somewhat more oncology-focused practice. Physicians manage adult patients across diagnosis, treatment planning, hematology consultation, and ongoing cancer care while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

This is an attractive opportunity for a Hematologist/Oncologist seeking strong earning potential, schedule flexibility, leadership opportunities, and access to clinical trials without the need to practice in a large academic medical center.

Position, Compensation & Organization

  • Full-time Hematology/Oncology physician opportunity
  • $600,000 base salary
  • Additional production incentive potential
  • $25,000 sign-on bonus
  • Up to $20,000 in relocation assistance
  • Up to $100,000 in student loan assistance
  • Residency stipend of up to $36,000, when applicable
  • PSLF eligible
  • Four-day workweek
  • Alternating Friday coverage with an APP
  • Approximately 25-30 patients per day
  • Predominantly adult and Medicare patient population

Practice Highlights

Join a collaborative cancer program with the clinical resources and support needed to provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care. The practice offers a broad scope and an opportunity to participate in both direct patient care and program leadership.

Physician responsibilities and opportunities include

  • General Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • Approximately 60% oncology / 40% hematology practice mix
  • Bone marrow biopsies
  • Hematology consultations
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Cancer committee participation and leadership opportunities
  • Tumor board involvement
  • Potential participation in clinical trials
  • Opportunity to help build and strengthen the regional cancer program

The cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, providing an established framework for multidisciplinary cancer care.

Multidisciplinary Support

  • Physicians are supported by an experienced cancer care team that includes:
  • 1 Advanced Practice Provider
  • Radiation Oncologist
  • Nurse Navigator
  • Oncology Registered Nurses
  • Medical Assistants
  • Pharmacist

This level of multidisciplinary support allows the physician to focus on complex cancer and hematology care while working closely with clinical professionals across the continuum of treatment.

Leadership & Professional Growth

Beyond direct patient care, this role provides an opportunity for a physician interested in leadership, program development, tumor board involvement, and cancer committee participation.

Clinical trial participation may also be available, offering physicians the ability to remain engaged with evolving oncology treatments and research while practicing in a regional community setting rather than a major academic center.

Community & Lifestyle

Live and practice in Southwest Montana, where physicians can combine a rewarding oncology career with the lifestyle benefits of the Mountain West. The region offers access to outdoor recreation, open landscapes, and a community-focused environment while still supporting a sophisticated multidisciplinary cancer program.

The four-day workweek is a particularly attractive feature for physicians looking to create greater balance between their clinical responsibilities and time outside of medicine.

Combined with a $600,000 base salary, substantial student loan assistance, relocation support, and leadership potential, this position offers a compelling opportunity to build a long-term Hematology/Oncology career in Montana.

Community Highlights

  • Southwest Montana location
  • Four-day physician workweek
  • Mountain West lifestyle
  • Strong multidisciplinary cancer support
  • Leadership and program-building opportunities
  • Potential clinical trial participation
  • Significant student loan and relocation assistance
  • Opportunity to develop a long-term Hematology/Oncology practice in Montana
